Fred Burke

Fred Burke has more than 10 years experience in technical direction, product development and new technologies ranging from Internet e-commerce to digital cinema and image processing.
Working closely with founder John Lowry in the assessment of new challenges, Fred has been instrumental in driving the creation of customized solutions and applications. His leadership of the Research and Development team has increased operational efficiencies and produced cutting-edge solutions for handling complex image issues encountered by filmmakers.
Prior to joining Lowry Digital, Fred served as Director of Engineering and Product Development for DTS Digital Cinema, where he managed a team of 24 software and hardware engineers. His efforts lead to the rapid completion of an industry approved beta JPEG2000 player as well as key technical advancements to the DTS Theater sound and video product line.
Previously, Fred was Senior User Interface Producer for Idealab!, where he worked for multiple start-up content and e-commerce internet ventures. During his tenure there, Fred lead the user-interface development team through several aggressive launch dates and managed the deployment of a fully integrated customer support system which is still in use today.
Fred graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986.
